Moss Account

Moss uses Privy accounts for login, bringing your social identity and your on-chain address together in one place. You verify with an X account, an email address, or a wallet you already own, and Privy generates a wallet for that identity (the Privy wallet). Your holdings and transactions on Moss all run through it.

One identity works across Agent Marketplace and Strategy List. Sign in once and both products share the same account, with no separate registration.

If you registered on Moss before the August 2026 account system upgrade, read the "Account migration for existing users" section below before choosing a login method.

Three Ways to Log In

Log in with X

  • Authorize through your X account to complete verification.

  • Points, diamonds, hosted Agents, and other account benefits belong to this identity.

Log in with email

  • Enter your email address and the verification code you receive.

  • No social account required.

Log in with a wallet

  • Sign with a wallet you already own to verify your identity.

  • That wallet serves only as a login credential. Moss still generates a separate Privy wallet for holdings and transactions, and the two are different addresses.

All three produce the same result: a wallet address generated by Privy. Log in with the same identity and you always get the same address. Log in with a different identity and you get a different address.

About Privy: it is wallet infrastructure used by a wide range of onchain applications. Private keys are generated inside a secure enclave and split into shares, so Moss never holds your private key and cannot move your assets. See privy.io for details.

Logging In

  1. Click Log in at the top right of moss.site.

  1. Choose the identity you want to use.

  • X: confirm authorization in the X window that opens, then return to Moss.

  • Email: enter your email address, then enter the verification code sent to that inbox.

  • Wallet: select the wallet you normally use and sign to verify. This wallet serves only as a login credential, and Moss still generates a separate Privy wallet for holdings and transactions.

  1. After logging in, check the wallet address shown on the page. This is your Privy wallet, and it starts with a zero balance.

One thing to note when you log in through Continue with wallet: the balance in the wallet you signed with is not the balance Moss uses. Fund the Privy wallet before you mint.

Funding Your Privy Wallet

A new Privy wallet holds nothing. Before minting Agent shares, you need two things in it: the network gas token that pays transaction fees, and the accept token that the Agent takes for minting.

The On-Chain Info section on an Agent's detail page shows which network it runs on and what its accept token is. Send both tokens to your Privy wallet address, on that network.

  1. Copy your Privy wallet address from your Moss account.

  2. Open the wallet or exchange account that holds your funds and start a withdrawal or transfer.

  1. Set the network to the one the Agent runs on. Getting this wrong loses funds directly, so confirm the network name matches before you continue.

  2. Send the accept token first, in the amount you plan to mint with.

  3. Send a small amount of the network gas token in a separate transfer. Gas is paid separately from the amount you mint with, and a wallet holding only the accept token cannot submit a transaction.

  1. Return to Moss and refresh. Once the transfers confirm on-chain, the balance appears in your Privy wallet.

Exchange withdrawals often support only a subset of networks. If the network you need is not on the withdrawal list, withdraw to your own wallet first, then transfer from there to your Privy wallet address.

FAQ

Q: Where are my points and diamonds held?

They are tied to your login identity, not to a wallet address. Logging in a different way takes you into a different account, where you will not see them. Keep using the same login method.

Q: Where are the Agent shares I hold?

They are tied to the on-chain address that minted them. Shares are on-chain assets, so whoever holds that address holds those shares, regardless of which login method you use.

Remember these two in one line: your identity decides which account you see, your address decides which shares you hold.

Q: I logged in to Privy with my own wallet. Why does Moss show a zero balance?

When you log in through Continue with wallet, that wallet only verifies your identity. Moss uses the newly generated Privy wallet, which is a brand new empty address. Send the gas token and the accept token to that address and the balance appears.

Q: Is the Privy wallet the same address as my own wallet?

No. They are two independent on-chain addresses. Your own wallet is controlled by your seed phrase or private key, and the Privy wallet is controlled by your login identity. Transfers, balances, and holdings are tracked separately.

Q: If I switch devices or clear my browser cache, do I still reach the same Privy wallet?

Yes. Log in with the same identity and you get the same Privy wallet address. Log in with a different identity and you get a different address.

Q: Can I switch between X login and email login?

No. They are independent identities, each with its own account and wallet address. They do not bind or merge automatically. Keep using the same login method.

Q: What if someone else gains access to my login account?

Access to a Privy wallet follows access to the login identity. Recover or secure your X account or email account immediately, and move the assets in the wallet to another address you control.

Account Migration for Existing Users

This section applies only to users who registered on Moss before the August 2026 account system upgrade. First-time users do not need to read it.

Find Your Case First

  • You logged in with X or email on the Moss website or Chrome extension: keep using the same X or email account. Your Moss Strategies and other data sync to your Privy account automatically, with nothing else to do.

  • You logged in with a wallet on Moss Agent Marketplace: log in with an X, email, or wallet account to create your Privy account, then transfer the assets in your original wallet to your Privy wallet address manually.

Case 1: You Logged In With X or Email on the Website or Extension

Log in the same way you did before. X before means X now, email before means email now. Your existing Moss data syncs to your Privy account automatically, with no extra steps.

  1. Click Log in at the top right and choose the same login method you used before.

  2. Complete the authorization or the verification code check, then return to Moss.

  3. Confirm that your existing Moss data is under the account. You also receive a wallet address generated by Privy.

Logging in a different way takes you into a separate new account, and your history does not follow. This is not a fault. Log out and use your original method instead.

Case 2: You Logged In With a Wallet on Agent Marketplace

Log in with X or email instead, and that identity becomes your Moss Privy account. The assets in your original wallet need to be transferred to the Privy wallet address manually.

Shares are recorded under the on-chain address that minted them and do not disappear when you change login method. The point of transferring is to bring your account and your assets together in one place.

Step 1: create your Privy account

  1. Click Log in at the top right and choose X, email, or wallet to create your Privy account.

  2. After logging in, copy the Privy wallet address shown on the page. This is your transfer destination.

Step 2: transfer the assets from your original wallet

  1. Open your original wallet (MetaMask, OKX Wallet, and so on) on the relevant network.

  2. Send your Agent shares and any remaining accept token to the Privy wallet address you copied.

  3. Once the transfers complete, return to Moss and refresh. Your holdings appear under your Privy account.

Before transferring, make sure your Privy wallet holds the gas token for that network, otherwise the transfer cannot be submitted.

Migration FAQ

Q: I logged in and cannot see my existing assets. Where did they go?

Nothing is lost. Check that you used the same login method as before, X before means X now, email before means email now. Logging in a different way takes you into a separate new account. If you used both X and email in the past, log in with X.

Q: Can I merge my X identity and my email identity?

No. After the upgrade there is no automatic binding or merging, and X and email correspond to two separate identities.

Q: What do I need to do to sync my existing data?

Users of the extension or Moss Strategy List need no extra steps. Log in with your original account and the sync happens automatically. Shares held in an Agent Marketplace wallet are recorded on the on-chain address and need a manual transfer.

Q: What happens if I do not transfer the shares in my wallet?

The shares are not lost and remain at the original address. You will need to log in through the original wallet entry to see and redeem them.

Q: How long will the old wallet entry stay available?

Wallet users who registered before the upgrade can keep using that entry to reach their existing account and assets. It is no longer used to register new users.
